Xie Lei born in 1983 in the province of Anhui in China, works and lives in Paris since 2006. After graduating from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, he came to study at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris from which he graduated in 2010, with honors. In 2016, he obtained his PhD in visual arts (ENS Paris - ENSBA Paris).
As from the interior of Xie Lei's paintings, emanates this disturbing light shared by good and bad dreams, and which leave the subject, rather the individuation in the collective, places to express himself. His compositions are populated by multitudes and individuals, humans, plants and animals at the edge of life.
