Nge Lay was born in 1979 at Myanmar, studied painting at art University Yangon, 1999 – 2003 and has BA (Painting) in 2003 and BA Eco in 2004 Myanmar. Interests in performance art, installation, sculpture and photography. Most of the works are reflection of her inner perception of the prevailing societies in Myanmar and also historical background and self-referential. Mainly focus on education system in Myanmar. Participated in numerous groups and solo exhibitions including France, New York, Tokyo, Singapore and Myanmar. 30 finalists of the Sovereign Asia Art Prize 2011 and 2020, Documenta 15, Kassel, Germany 2022 “Singapore Biennale 2013 The 8th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT8) QGOMA, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Children’s Biennale 2019 Singapore. Co-organizer of “Thuyédan Village Art Project” Thuyédan Village, Pyay, Myanmar.
