Zélie Nguyen

Zélie Nguyen is a French painter of Vietnamese origin, who graduated from Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2021. In this solo booth, the artist invites the viewer to immerse in her utopian world of expanding landscapes inhabited by enigmatic animal presences. On the occasion of Asia NOW 2023, the artist unveils paintings in which the elements of representation (waterfalls, mountains, gradations and flat tints, cavalier perspective) come from oriental iconography. The latter expresses itself below and beyond what is happening before our eyes: the essence of Taoist and Zen thought is always vivid in the background.
