For this year’s edition of ASIA NOW, Praz-Delavallade will show a solo-show with the Iranian artist Golnaz Payani, that will not only mark our first participation in this art fair but also a return to the physical art fairs after this unprecedented year.

This booth will be, so we are sure, a success for visitors and collectors, as they finally can join again to celebrate ASIA NOW and the pleasure of seeing art. Golnaz Payani creates art works to freeze the time that passes , leaving behind only the traces of a void. Originally a painter, the artist develops her practice around various mediums: film, video, work on fabric, installation, ceramic, poetry.

Golnaz Payani recycles time, fixes it in a frame or paper, and tries to keep track of it when it inflames. If the story is over, the artist gives us back its perfume, its color, its hue or its frame. Her creations therefore function as the relics of thi s absence, of this inevitable dissolution of time and memory. Her work invites us to a meditative ballad intersecting different temporalities and real ities but also collective and individual memories .
