Over the Influence was founded in Hong Kong in 2015 and expanded to Los Angeles in 2018. November 2021 announces the launch of OTI Bangkok, celebrating our leadership in three global cities. We are proud to celebrate the Asia Now debut of two Thai artists who are ascending the ranks of their Southeast Asian peers.
Akin to keeping a diary, Verapat Sitipol paints his emotions and like the seasons each artwork is a personal reflection of a specific time and mood. The artist’s connection with the Thai natural landscape is visible in the compositions that are bursting with fresh green life and radiant energy.
In contrast, Gongkan fully embraces city life’s fast-paced rhythm. After finishing university in Bangkok, he moved to NYC working in graphic design and becoming friendly with the underground art scene, gaining notoriety for his “Teleport Art” stickers found on public signs.
As his artistic practice matures Gongkan identifies with Surrealism and Magic Realism. For him art is an expression of freedom and personal liberation.
OTI BKK's landmark presence in Bangkok promises a new direction for the gallery by increasing international awareness to Thai artists, as well as to Southeast Asia’s rich artistic history and culture.
