For this edition of Asia Now, Galerie La La Lande presents an Iranian artist, a Chinese artist and a Tunisian artist with a project on Asia. From painting to drawing, a pronounced narrative figuration manifests itself.

Alireza Shojaian's aim is to make room, through art, for a non-heteronormative masculinity and to challenge the taboos and prejudices that continue to be prevalent towards sexual minorities, particularly in Middle Eastern societies.

Lin Wenjie's paintings, always figurative, illustrate scenes from our daily lives and reveal these most ordinary moments in a new light. The exhibition first presents works produced before the residency in Mantes, then reveals the works created here and above all the encounters that resulted from them.

Slimen ElKamel's studies at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Tunis enabled him to crystallize this literary and intellectual heritage into a singular plastic practice. A practice whose genesis opens up through writing and which draws its resources from texts, sometimes poetic or literary, sometimes memorial or improvised.

Through this selection, La La Lande Gallery wishes to immerse you in a common parallel universe of this eclectic selection of emerging artists.
