Seulgi Lee's works employ an easier-to-use vocabulary to describe craftsmanship and challenge arbitrary distinctions between formal, neat sculptural syntax and more popular design or aesthetic. For her blanket project U, she hides a proverb in a geometrical composition with the help of Nubi artisans sewn line by line. In 2020, Seulgi Lee is the winner of Korea’s prestigious award for art, the Korea Artist Prize.
Seulgi Lee is represented by Jousse Entreprise Gallery in Paris and by the Gallery Hyundai in Seoul, Korea.
