Selin Davasse (1992, Turkey) lives and works in Berlin. Using different literary and performance techniques, she conceives and collaboratively realizes the ethics of an alternative past, present and speculative future. The artist condenses thought structures into intimate female forms of expression in her works – sometimes sung, sometimes spoken – in which she establishes participatory, often playful relationships with the audience like a hostess, as she has already shown at the likes of Wiener Festwochen, Radicants in Paris and Berlin’s Volksbühne.

We had the honour to witness Selin Davasse’s performance She-Pigeon at the occasion of our 9th edition. Born in 1992, in Ankara, the artist lives and works in Berlin. Her performative practice translates research findings from various disciplines to textual, visual and sonic textures. Weaving theory, history and fiction with feminine voices, her work engages with ethical/political impasses and takes shape as multilayered lecture-performances with site-specific installations.
