Madina Joldybek’s practice addresses issues of gender inequality, human rights, motherhood and migration in the sociopolitical context of Kazakhstan. Between various kinds of social pressure, guilt, and romanticisation, the artist initiates an honest conversation with the audience, in this case the changing nature of a woman’s breasts due to motherhood.
