Duyi Han (1994, China) is an artist specializing in aesthetic research and avant-garde design. He creates environments and objects as neuro-aesthetic prescriptions that engage with the complexity and beauty of diverse temporal and cultural contexts. The artist and designer addresses mental health and Chinese culture through virtual and physical forms. He draws inspiration from neuroaesthetics: how visual content feeds the brain and elicits feelings, and conversely how humans project their minds onto visual culture.

Our Superior Algorithm

For Asia Now, the artist has imagined a floating textile installation: Our Superior Algorithm. It will be composed of 3 suspended textile pieces. Inspired by the banners hanging from Chinese temples, commercial advertisements and modern financial elites. Our Superior Algorithm plays an ambiguous role between a marketing message and a mantra.

The idea is to rethink the objects found in temples, such as the floating wall hangings in Buddhist temples. And connect them to a certain financial elite. The textiles are made from costume offcuts. They will be accompanied by mantras, the artist's marketing messages: such as "financial decision". The artist is also thinking of including some industry-related logos.
