We offer a cutting-edge special projects program, curated by Emmanuelle de Montgazon, associate curator of “A Japanese Season” at the Centre Pompidou-Metz in 2017-2018, that will feature for the first time in Europe an in situ installation by the iconic Tokyo-based artist Makoto Aida along with performances by Teppei Kaneuji, Joji Nakamura and Masayaki Kawai. Do not miss «Transitional » exhibition by the curators of the Mori Art Museum featuring young Japanese talents shown for the first time in France, complemented by a series of round-table discussions and screenings on Japanese art. Last but not least, ten cutting-edge Japanese galleries will be housed in a dedicated exhibition space designed by Sou Fujimoto Architects.
This edition will also feature strong contingents of Chinese and Filipino galleries, as well as the return of Korean galleries, including several leading artists to be shown. The young Singaporean artist Sarah Choo-Jing, who recently exhibited at the 57th Venice Biennale and whose works have been acquired by the National Museum of Singapore, will present a 5-channel immersive video installation, Accelerated Intimacy. Yu Hong, one of the most representative artists of New Realist Painting in China will unveil a new Virtual Reality project, “She’s already gone”, presented by Khora Contemporary.
