Iconography in Contemporary Conditions
This solo exhibition will feature Komkrit's clever and witty use of everyday objects, combined with his exceptional sculpture skills to create works of art that question and challenge the audience’s view, experience, and memories of the significance of historical cultures and beliefs on historical buildings and objects. This exhibition serves as an informative tool and historical record on a myriad of events and important local wisdom seen in different eras and in modern times.
This series of artworks presents mainly Buddha and images of other deities and examines how the image changes according to the conditions of the era and various factors that affecting it. This series of artworks also presents the history of the images, overlapping with faith, colonization of historical objects, problems with the trading of historical objects and contemporary views of historical objects.
